Our AML and Verification Policy
We verify who plays at Playfina Casino and monitor how money moves through our platform. This page explains our anti-money-laundering and KYV framework in plain English.
Our AML Policy
Playfina Casino operates under Curaçao licence 8048/JAZ2021-169, issued to Dama N.V., our parent company. That licence binds us to anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing obligations, and we treat those obligations as baseline requirements rather than a ceiling.
We run a risk-based programme: customer due diligence at defined trigger points, ongoing transaction monitoring, escalation of suspicious activity, and reporting to the relevant authorities where the law requires it. Our compliance team is responsible for the programme, and every department, from payments to support, feeds information into it.
- Customer due diligence at registration, first withdrawal and threshold triggers
- Continuous monitoring of deposits and withdrawals against expected behaviour
- Internal escalation of suspicious activity within strict timeframes
- Statutory reporting to Curaçao authorities where required
- Staff training on AML obligations across all teams
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification is not a one-off event. We check basic details when you register, run full KYC before your first withdrawal, and re-verify at specific thresholds or when something in your account activity warrants a second look.
Full verification covers three things: who you are, where you live, and that the payment method you use belongs to you. We ask for the documents only when a specific trigger fires, never as a blanket demand on day one.
| Trigger | What we check | Documents |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Name, date of birth, country, email | None at this stage |
| First withdrawal | Full identity, address, payment ownership | Photo ID, utility bill, card or wallet statement |
| Cumulative deposits over AUD 2,000 | Enhanced due diligence | Source of funds evidence |
| Change of payment method | Ownership of the new method | Card photo or wallet confirmation |
How Verification Works Step by Step
- Open the verification section in your account and select the document type requested
- Photograph both sides of your photo ID, or the statement or bill we asked for
- Upload the files, making sure all four corners and all data are visible
- Wait for our compliance officers to review, typically within 24 hours
- If approved, your withdrawal limit is lifted and processing continues as normal
Data protection
Documents are stored encrypted, with access restricted to compliance staff who need them for a specific review. We never share your verification files with third parties outside the legal reporting obligations of our licence.
When We Ask for Source of Funds
Monitoring Deposits and Withdrawals
Every deposit and withdrawal is screened against rules tuned to detect layering, structuring and third-party funding. Deposits from a method in a name other than yours are rejected. Withdrawals go back to the same method you deposited with wherever the payment channel supports it; if you deposited by several methods, we split the withdrawal proportionally.
Withdrawals start from AUD 30 and run up to 6,400 AUD per day and 32,000 AUD per month, processed within 0 to 24 hours after verification clears. We apply no fees on our side. VIP players in the upper tiers of our 10-level programme get higher limits arranged through their personal manager.
If Verification Fails
Withdrawals stay on hold until KYC completes, that is the short version. If your documents are rejected, we tell you why and give you a chance to send better copies; the most common reason is a cropped photo or an expired ID.
If you refuse to verify, or we detect documents that do not belong to you, we suspend the account and freeze any pending balance while we investigate. Where the investigation confirms fraud or third-party funding, we may close the account and, where the law requires, report the matter to the authorities before any funds are released.
How Long We Keep Records
Frequently Asked Questions
Why was my withdrawal put on hold?
The most common reason is pending KYC. We verify identity, address and payment method ownership before the first withdrawal; once your documents clear, processing resumes within 0 to 24 hours.
Can I withdraw to a different card than I deposited with?
No. Our same-method rule sends withdrawals back to the deposit method wherever the payment channel supports it, and deposits from methods in another person's name are rejected outright.
What counts as valid proof of address?
A utility bill, bank statement or government-issued document showing your full name and address, dated within the last three months. Mobile phone bills and printed internet pages are not accepted.
Do I need to verify before depositing?
No, registration only requires basic details. Full verification triggers on your first withdrawal or at the cumulative deposit thresholds listed above.
